This TREASURE COIN was Specially Handcrafted by Artisans / Craftsman exclusively for Pirate Gold Coins ~ This PERU 1710 “COB” 8 ESCUDOS was crafted as an exact reproduction of a Current Gold Doubloon we have in our inventory and is 24KT GOLD PLATED OVER PURE SILVER. Measuring in at approx 30mm and weighing in at approx. 10gm. These beautiful Pieces of Eight were destined for the King’s Treasure and as part of the “Queen’s Dowry” that was desperately needed by King Philip V in order to consummate his new marriage (to Elizabeth Farnese). These Special Pieces were lost at Sea along with the specially prepared “QUEEN’S JEWELS” as well (which have also been salvaged / recovered). The Reverse (Cross Side), displays the Cross of Jerusalem with Castles and Lions signifying the Kingdoms of Castile and Leon and the Legend reads: PHILIPUS V * DEI.*G.*ANO 1710 (DEI*G = DEI GRATIA or by the Grace of God) . On the Obverse the legends read: HISPANIRUM.*ET.*INDIARUM.*REX = King of Spain and the Indies, along with our LOGO for Pirate Gold Coins. (Front and Reverse: Philip V by the Grace of God King of SPAIN and the Indies. These special handcrafted pieces are offered in a blended Matte / Polished high point finish.
