(1) PERU LIMA 8 ESCUDOS 1710 22kt. PLATED GOLD DOUBLOON 1715 FLEET TREASURE COIN
(1 piece) PERU LIMA 8 ESCUDOS 1710 “REPLICA” ELECTROPLATED GOLD 22kt PLATED ON SILVER DOUBLOON COB “REPLICA 1715 FLEET COIN” Pendant piece
This PERUVIAN “Double Date” 1710 “REPLICA / COPY” was poured in pure Silver and electroplated (multiple times up to 2 Microns or 4x times the average) in 22kt. GOLD and was cast from a near perfect specimen, and would look great in a Pendant. The Planchet is perfectly round (great for Pendant) and weighs in at approx. 16 grams of silver. The Cross side shows FULL Legends: REX PHILIPUS.V. DG. HISPANIRUM (King Philip V by the Grace of God King of Spain). The LIONS & Castles are very well detailed as is the nearly Perfect CROSS! The Obverse has nearly a Full Crown and a Perfect Strike displaying the “Pillars & Waves” with the Mint “L” on the left (LIMA), with the denomination in the Center “8” for 8 Escudos (Pieces of Eight) and “H” for the Assayer: Hurtado.
The second line: PVA stands for “Plus Ultra” meaning “More Beyond” (more beyond the Straits of Gibraltar or Pillars of Gibraltar) and of course the date “710” on the last line. The Legends again are struck in full detail: ETYND. IARUM. REX. ANO 1710 = and the Indies. Spain. King. Date 1710 (Full 4 digits variety). This piece has a nice bright Luster and would make for a great Pendant piece. We also offer GOLD Bezels upon request and are currently have a master craftsman (artisan) designing a Skull Bezel and multiple other choices. This piece is marked copy just below the denomination 8 on the Obverse side. Of course the Gold content is nearly an ounce and displays beautifully the art work of the blacksmiths back 300 hundred years ago! *Keep in mind each piece is HAND MADE, struck, toned and electroplated and the Color and Luster will vary from piece to piece, as each piece is Uniquely struck or poured.
