PERU 1750 8 ESCUDOS LIKELY “LA LUZ SHIPWRECK RAW GOLD COB DOUBLOON TREASURE COIN
PERU 1750 8 ESCUDOS LIKELY “LA LUZ SHIPWRECK” RAW GOLD COB DOUBLOON TREASURE COIN This beautifully struck LIMA Gold Doubloon, 8 Escudos is almost certainly from the “La Luz Shipwreck of 1752.” It is a large planchet of almost 30mm and weighs the appropriate 26.5 grams, and was struck by Assayer R. It is also Double DATED 1750, once below the very bold Cross and again on the Pillar side. We are contemplating putting this piece in a nice 18kt Gold Pendant so this piece of history can be enjoyed daily (it’s an option for you, we can do whatever type of pendant you choose at an extra cost). The castles are particularly nice, can see the bricks in arch, as well as the windows. Very few people are able to find and obtain a FULL PIECES OF EIGHT for the their Pedant, this is a Rare Opportunity!
