To the left of the Shield is the mint "S" for Seville and to the right of the Shield is II (2 reales) and the assayer "J" just below. The reverse legends: HISPANIARUM * REX 1722 (SPAIN * KING 1722), reading in total (front and back) By the Grace of GOD King Philip Vth SPAIN. The details on the reverse are equally well struck, with extraordinarily strong devices / details. Featuring the Cross of Jerusalem and quartiles of Lions and Castles (representing the kingdoms of LEON and CASTILE).
