SPAIN 1721 8 Escudos Gold Doubloon ~ NGC 45 ~ ONLY 3 EVER GRADED! CROSS or JERUSALEM!
SPANISH GOLD COIN 1721 8 ESCUDOS NGC 45! *** THIS IS ONE OF ONLY 3 PIECES EVER GRADED!!! *** - PIECES OF EIGHT FROM THE SEVILLE MINT" DURING KING PHILIP Vth REGIN (1700-1724, AND THEN 1725 TO DEATH). FEATURING A VERY LARGE FLAN (LARGER THAN US HALF DOLLAR). "VERY VERY RARE!" INCREDIBLE DETAILS AND BOLD STRIKE & INCREDIBLY RARE AT ALMOST 300 YEARS OLD AND IN THIS CONDITION! JUST FINDING AN 8 ESCUDOS IS TOUGH ENOUGH, BUT A STRONG STRIKE DATED PIECE IS VERY DIFFICULT, THEN ADD ON TOP OF THAT THE INCREDIBLE CENTERING OF THIS HAMMERED PIECE AND YOU REALLY HAVE A WORLD CLASS EXAMPLE! VERY FEW COLLECTORS HAVE AN "EARLY CROSS COIN" (NOT A PORTRAIT) AND TO FIND A CERTIFIED ONE, IN THIS CONDITION IS A REAL TREASURE! "RARE OPPORTUNITY" WE'VE ALSO INCLUDED THE FINEST PIECE EVER GRADED FOR THE DATE AS A COMPARABLE (CONDITION WISE). THE CROSS SIDE OF THE 63 IS JUST HORRIBLE – IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN SCRAPED ON THE SURFACE, PERHAPS FOR WEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS (KNOWN AS ADJUSTMENT MARKS); ALSO, THE LEFT SIDE (3 O'CLOCK) OF THE CROSS SIDE IT'S OBVIOUSLY BEEN "SHAVED" ON THE PLANCHET, AGAIN, PERHAPS FOR WEIGHT ADJUSTMENT. THE OBVERSE ALSO APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN FILED ON THE HIGH POINTS. IN MY OPINION, THE XF 45 BLOWS AWAY THE SO CALLED 63!~ BUT YOU BE THE JUDGE.
