Spain 8 Escudos 1701 "Seville" NGC 53! The first year of issue for the type! A lot of the time these Spanish "Milled" coins have a significant portion of the date rubbed off, this one is still extremely intact!  Also, Shield sides more often than not come very soft in the center. The crown and center are both still very well struck. Basically full "pie crust". Shifting on these pieces can really irritate the eye when looking at 'pie crust' on only half the coin. This piece features the mintmark, assayer, and abbreviated denomiination within the reverse spandrels (S M 8 S Type).
