SPAIN 1591-97 GOLD 2 ESCUDOS PCGS 55 DOUBLOON COB “LARGE FLAN”
Very LARGE Flan / Planchet for a 2 Escudos and high Luster, Honey color toning really makes this coin Pop! Incredible Centering on Front and Reverse! Full display of the “S” (Seville) to the left of the Shield and the II for the denomination and to the right of the Shield it appears to possible be the date 1596 (which we have another 1596 dated 2 Escudos in our store (AU50) as well and also just sold one in a lower grade of VF-35). Not certain, but also the coins has some legible letters in the legends, which is very rare as well. The STRIKE on both the CROSS & SHIELD side is very well struck, displaying nice details (even part of the crown above the shield). Just an overall gorgeous Gold Doubloon!
