SPAIN 1556-98 4 ESCUDOS GOLD DOUBLOON TREASURE SHIPWRECK COB COIN WOW! This piece is just incredible, from the FULL CROWN and SHIELD to the near perfectly round planchet and the incredible strike and deep toning! Even the deep Gold color still has some luster showing after almost 500 years! Full Mint and Assayer showing (Seville mint & Square D assayer). Even the King’s Ordinal is visible in the Obverse Legend (Philipus II). You can even see at 7 o’clock the bottom portion of DEI GRATIA (by the Grace of GOD). The reverse is equally impressive with a near perfectly centered Cross and distinct and bold HISPANIRUM.
