EASTERN ROMAN EMPIRE GOLD "LEO I" 457-474 AD NGC MS 5X4 "MINT STATE" AV SOLIDUS Military Bust & Cross – Coin.  Larger piece at 21mm @ 4.49gm.  From the Constantinople, 2nd Officina ca 464-466AD  Hlding spear over right shoulder and shield on left shoulder with horseman motif.  On the reverse: Victory standing left, holding jeweled long cross; star to right.  Legends read:  N LEO PE-RPET AVG / REV: VICTORI-A AVCCC.  This was shortly before the Eastern Roman Empire turned in Byzantine.  This almost perfectly shaped piece has incredible centering with a very strong strike (as noted by NGC as a 5/5 strike).  The color is a deep golden luster and is not often seen in such a high preservation state (Mint State).
