Peru 2 Reales 1598-1621 Atocha Shipwreck Mel Fisher
ATOCHA MEL FISHER LIMA PERU 2 REALES 1598-1621 PIRATE GOLD COINS SILVER COB It’s difficult to get much Cooler than this… a Silver Cob literally from a Treasure Chest from the Nuestra Señora de Atocha, brought up from the bottom of the Sea by Mel Fisher’s “Treasure Salvors” in 1986. Very Rarely do you find pieces minted from PERU (Lima) on the Atocha, but this piece is even more special than that…. it’s from a Treasure Chest Solid piece (encrusted together), see the COA pic’s. “STAR of LIMA” GRADE 1 (6.40gm) as designated on the COA. Also, 2 Reales are Exceedingly RARE! Now add to that a GRADE 1 (and from the Treasure Chest Clump and you have a Trophy piece!). If there was a Grade Category higher than a “1” then this piece would nail it! The Obverse literally has a FULL Crown, FULL Shield, Assayer marks, Mint Marks and most incredibly, almost complete LEGENDS! (Phillipus Dei Gratia Hispanirum). The Cross on Reverse is Complete, very well centered… even the Tressure is Complete (Rarely seen). Full circumference of Beads and a Majority of the Legends as well. Just an astonishing piece!
