Peru 8 Escudos 1746 "Stars" NGC XF Details Pirate Gold Coins Treasure
PERU 1746 “STARS” 8 ESCUDOS NGC XF GOLD PIRATE TREASURE COB COIN FLEET Just an amazing Blazing Gold Doubloon! Very RARE (1 Year) Variety with “STARS.” Most likely the reason for the “Ornamental STAR Variety” was made to commemorate King Philip Vth’s life (he passed on July 9, 1746). We have seen Only 1 other piece that has ever been offered (that piece sold for approx. $11,000 back a few years ago and it was quite inferior to this piece). The CROSS side it just incredible, from the Thick Variety Bold Cross to the Lions and Castles, literally NO disruptions, ZERO Doubling and incredibly bold STARS! Also, the King’s ordinal (Philipus V) is visible in Legend. The Obverse has a Perfectly Clear DATE and it even has the lower portion of the “SECOND / DOUBLE DATE” in the Legend (highly coveted and sought after). The STARS are ALL there on the Obverse as well with two Bold Pillars, again, NO Doubling on this side as well. The Mint “L” (Lima) is clear as well as the Assayer “V” (Vargas). Just an outstanding RARE Variety that would uplight any high quality Collection!
