PERU 1738 L 8 ESCUDOS NGC 50 GOLD PIRATE TREASURE COIN DOUBLOON COB This RARE Date is actually “Double Dated!” Which is how the date is determined. When you view the large pic at the 10 o’clock Legend you will clearly see "ANO 38,” now this could of been a 6; however you review the Main date in the bottom row you will see the top Ghost of the “8.” The MINT “L” Lima, as well as the “8” and “N” Assayer (in the top row) are very well struck, as well as the 2nd line PVA. There’s NO Doubling of any kind and you can clearly see the “LIMA STAR” above the denomination and just below the Partial Crown. The Reverse CROSS side certainly draws you in, from the incredibly Bold Cross to the well struck Lions and Castles, and even part of the Legends, and reflects the Romance of this Golden Pirate Age!
