Peru 4 Escudos 1712 "1715 Fleet Shipwreck" NGC 61! Exceedingly RARE and second Finest Grade! This Peruvian cob 4 Escudos is one of only (6) Six pieces ever certified! There has been only 30 (of ALL Dates) for the '1715 Fleet Pieces' ever graded, the 4 Escudos are extremely Rare, regardless of the date. This particular gold doubloon is almost perfectly round and centered (both sides).

There is virtually No doubling whatsoever and the surfaces are some of the cleanest surfaces we've ver seen. It literally looks like this cob was struck yesterday. The reverse (cross side) is just breathtaking, from the perfect centering to the clean and strong strike. The Lions are Castles, cross and legends are all deeply struck with a crispness to the devices rarely seen. The satiny surfaces displaying a lovely rich golden coloration with minor encrustation amongst the devices adding to its originality and pleasing appearance.
