Peru 8 Escudos 1711 "2nd Finest Known- 1715 Plate Fleet Shipwreck" NGC 62
PERU 1711 8 ESCUDOS NGC 62 “1715 FLEET SHIPWRECK” SHIPWRECK GOLD COB TREASURE COIN 2nd FINEST KNOWN! This breathtaking “1715 FLEET” GOLD COB is 2nd FINEST KNOWN! It comes with a Full COA from Mel Fisher’s “Cobb Co.” The surfaces on this piece are extremely clean with no disturbances, which is atypical. The Obverse displays a Partial CROWN – Very rarely seen! The date is very well struck, as well as all the details on this piece. The color is just stunning – a deep rich butterscotch LUSTER is emanating from the entire piece. Nice Legends are partially visible and deeply struck. The Reverse is simply amazing, from it’s deeply and well struck Castles (full windows) and even the Lions manes. The CROSS is fully displayed and very well centered, with very very little doubling. It’s a Full Bold Cross (some pieces have very thin and broken crosses). The legends are predominately all there, displaying the King’s Ordinal (Philipus V); DG (Dei Gratia) and most of HISPANINRUM. Again, incredibly lustrous and gorgeous underlying surfaces. Every Gold Cob Collection must have a Lucky 711 (1711) piece and to find one this nice and accurately certified / graded as a FINEST KNOWN is a Rare Opportunity!!!
