ATOCHA 1622 SHIPWRECK PERU LIMA 2 REALES 1568-70 FISHER COA SILVER COIN RINCON RARE RARE RARE!!! This piece has been appraised at $40,000 by the Mel Fisher Group and comes with a COA from the Fisher Team as well, # 85A-237003 (see Attached pic for DATA BASE print out w/photos!). This piece was loaded onto the Galleon about 50 years after it was Struck, pretty Rare. Now, add to that the Assayer “RINCON," and the Rarity just went up, way up! There were Only 37 of these 2 Reales found that are in GRADE 1 (highest Grade possible), now that’s Rare! This beautiful Pillars & Waves Weighs in a 5.8grams and has Certainly earned it’s GRADE 1 designation! This piece is Coin No: 85A-237003 (meaning 1985 Atocha, started coin numbers for Research coins with 237 (so this was the 3rd coin!). But by far the importance of this Assayer “RINCON” can be overly stated! His Assayer “R” is clearly and boldly struck (right of Shield). Not to mention the ENTIRE shield is boldly struck and visible (RARELY SEEN)! The Planchet is very round and even more incredibly is the centering is so well attended to when struck that you can literally see the King’s Ordinal (PHILIPUS), then D (Dei Gratia= by the Grace of God) and the beginning of HISPANIA (and even part of the Crown! The Obverse is nothing short of Amazing… Full Pillars and Waves, and again, the Legends are predominately visible. This a VERY Important piece, and was used by the Fisher Team as a Research coin (Archaeological Research piece). Not to mention a Historical Treasure Piece!
