MEXICO 1654 8 REALES NGC 30 FULL DATE! LIKELY MARAVILLAS SHIPWRECK TREASURE COB SILVER COIN This FULL DATED Mexico struck 8 Reales not Only has ALL 4 Digits in the Date that are visible but also has the oMP (Mint and Assayer) as well as partial legends (DEI.G. = by the Grace of God). There’s also a nearly complete Shield. This piece is Very Likely from the Shipwreck of the MARAVILLAS in 1656 off the Grand Bahama Island (which also contained much of the salvage from the 1654 CAPITANA. The Maravillas shipwreck was salvaged and loaded onto the salvage Galleon ~ Madama do Brasil, which subsequently also Wrecked in 1657. Much of the salvaged Treasure from the Maravillas was auction in 1992 and 1993 in London by Christies, then again in 2005 in California.
