Mexico 8 Escudos 1714-15 "1715 Plate Fleet Shipwreck" NGC 62
MEXICO "1715 FLEET" SHIPWRECK 8 ESCUDOS NGC 62 GOLD PIRATE TREASURE COB COIN Mexico 1715 "Full Date FLEET Shipwreck” 8 ESCUDOS NGC 62 ~ full 27gm (26.96 to be exact). (tied for 3nd FINEST KNOWN! Only behind one in 64 that’s missing part of date and 2 pieces we have in 63) GOLD DOUBLOON COB TREASURE COIN ONLY 16 TOTAL Ever CERTIFIED, we have 9 of those offered here in our store! This piece has No visible date but is of the Die Variety Only to “1715” (will be re-submitting to get date corrected). It's RARELY SEEN, Diamond Variety (flanking the Denomination)! The next thing to catch your eye is the Bright Golden Luster as is consummate with the Grade! This piece displays a FULL CROWN and Shield, which is atypical, as normally the strikes on 1715’s are shifted to one side or the other. This is especially true to Top to Bottom Centering, almost always loosing the entire or a large portion of the Crowns. The Reverse Centering is also superior showing the Entire CROSS and most of the Tressure. Also, notice the Fleur de Lis pointing inward from outside the Tressure, VERY Rare Variety! This piece exemplifies the “Pirate Look” with it’s underlying toning and encrustations, further validating it’s Shipwreck origins as designated on the Grade Tab “1715 FLEET!" The 1715 Treasure Fleet was a Spanish treasure fleet returning from the New World to Spain.
