Examine the Cob itself is such a pleasure, as it’s very Round shaped planchet displays nicely the FULL CROWN and Full Shield, as well as the Full Denomination (VIII) and the Mint / Assayer (oMJ = Jose De Leon). This piece is also very RARE due to being “OVERWEIGHT at 27.2gm)! It is a very large planchet as well (approx 31-31mm). The CROSS if full an dComplete, even displaying a portion of the legend (HISPANIRUM. ET. REX). A very important piece with an incredible toning of what appears to be sediment or encrustations (very possibly from a Shipwreck).
