MEXICO 2 Escudos “FULLY DATED 1714”  ALL 4 DIGITS and from the 1715 FLEET SHIPWRECK!!!  This piece is perhaps the Best dated 1714 2 Escudos I’ve ever seen!   Actually ever detail is Struck Very Sharp!  Even the Legends that are showing “DEI.G” DEI GRATIA (By the Grace of GOD) and the Assayer oMJ are all Deeply struck.  I’m somewhat surprised it wasn’t graded much higher.  The Reverse side (Cross side) is also Very deeply struck, not only the Cross itself (which has one of the Deepest or most raised Cross and devices I’ve ever seen), but even the legends “HISPANIA.”  Each letter is clearly and deeply struck.  This piece really brings to light the era of Galleons, Pirates and Sunken Treasure!
