Mexico 8 Escudos 1714 "Full 4 Digit Date" UNC Details (Great Pendant Piece)
MEXICO 1714 8 ESCUDOS NGC 62 “FULL DATE ON OBVERSE"! “1715 FLEET” SHIPWRECK GOLD DOUBLOON COIN
***** SEE GALLERY showing OVER 3,000,000 in eBay Traffic this MONTH alone!
This incredibly Gorgeous FULLY DATED 8 Escudos even has reddish sediment with the devices. Besides the date, it has a FULL Shield, Partial Crown, and not only the Mint & Assayer (oMJ) (Jose), but there's even a fair amount of Legends on this Obverse (DEI.G. = Dei Gratia = by the Grace of God). Virtually no doubling as well. The planchet is very large and it's Full Weight (27.08), actually Overweight. So, I'm not sure if there really was any rim filing; as it's hard to imagine what it would have weight prior to any filing. The Reverse displays a Full Cross and Tressure and very detailed Fluer di Lis, as well as partial legends (HISPANIRUM REX = King of SPAIN). This piece would make an incredible Shipwreck Pendant!25
