MEXICO Large (17-3/4" x 21-1/2") Copperplate - engraved Dutch map.  Circa 1606-30 and hand colored.  This detailed Map from the reissue Mercator work  (Atlas Sive Cosmograpiae, published by Hondius.  This gorgeous Map displays Mexico's Pacific Coast as well as a wide swath of interior with numerous town and city names throughout.  Cartouches in the corner display the engraving name, bar scale and additional location names.  FRENCH text displayed on reverse.  Very fine condition with small internal tears around upper Cartouche, central vertical fold reinforced on reverse.  Beautiful Original colors.  ERA of the Atocha 1622! x .
