18kt Hublot 8/100 Vintage 1989 Rare MDM 1512.3 Skeleton
Watch sold as is. Keeps good time but could probably use a service. This limited-edition piece is a must have for any Hublot collector, an extremely rare chance to own a very limited watch #8/100. Case is solid 18k yellow gold with intricate engravings on the skeletonized dial saying the model “mdm” as well as “geneve” showing its Swiss origins. At 36mm, it makes for a traditional men’s watch, but can also be unisex. A truly beautiful and simple time piece.
Comes with Hublot box and warranty card (expired given this is a vintage piece). I have a few of the original papers as well (included).
The caliber is beautifully hand finished and jeweled. This is a manual wind movement with Hublot calibre 1512.3 which was modified by Hublot for this watch so as not to have a winding rotor to block the openworked dial. The twin-trigger deployment clasp is satin finished and also full 18k yellow gold.
The rubber strap will comfortably fit wrists between 6.25 and 6.75 inches. If you have a larger wrist, replacement straps can be easily purchased on both eBay and through your local Hublot dealer.
The watch does have surface scratches on the case and the clasp, but has never been polished as I personally prefer not to polish gold time pieces and shave off the gold mass. Given the case is largely polished as is, if you desire a like-new look, most jewelers will be able to do a fresh polish if you decide to go that route. Watch weighs in at 68 grams - for a gold value alone of ~$3700.
