COLOMBIA 2 ESCUDOS 1635 DATED NGC61 GOLD DOUBLOON COB CROSS JERUSALEM-SHIPWRECK
This lustrous 2 Escudo Gold Cob is from the NR mint (Nuevo Reino) KM-4.1 This 1635 piece is “DATED” you can clearly see last 2 digits on the CROSS side!!! In VERY VERY high condition – MS 61 (Mint State). Just a couple weeks ago we sold another 2E from Columbia (on ebay, you can view under completed sales) at $4,000+ and it was from 165x and that piece is in EF (XF) 40, that’s 21 points below this MINT STATE piece.
This piece is nearly PERFECTLY round (last piece was nowhere near this shape) and this Gold Doubloon has the FULL SHIELD (again prev. piece lacking shield) and almost the FULL CROWN & CROSS!!! We don’t expect this piece to last long!
