WOW!!! The Holy Grail of Atocha Coins, a DATED 1622 8 Reales, which goes nicely with our ebay listing of the DATED 1622 4 Reales.  What a set that would make!

This variety is referred to as "Transposed" as well, meaning the Lions and Castles are reversed. (although not designated on the MEL FISHER COA (Treasure Salvors).  Weighing in at 26gm (full weight) and assigned a whopping 29 points in a division, they certainly knew what they had!  Phillip III ~ COIN # 85A-116666

This is an incredible piece (beyond the 1622 DATE), with a Full Cross, Full Tressure and Full Shield; as well as the Mint and Assayer (P.T.) fully visible as well.  I have been dealing in Atocha coins for quite some time and I've purchased and sold literally hundreds and it's an easy statement to say, "This is the King of Atocha pieces!" Even the most advanced collector or dealer would take pause when viewing this piece in hand.
