Flanders. Louis II de Mâle (1346-84) gold Chaise d'or au lion 1369-84 MS63 NGC, Fr-163. I went back 14 years of research and only saw 1 piece in 1 grade higher of the FR 163 and looks inferior to this piece is several ways. This piece is Luxurious for the type with sharp detail of the king, sumptuous luster in the open fields and nearly full definition throughout the legends (Rarely seen). Rich orange-gold tone only adds to the appeal and gives this example a high-end appearance for the grade. We had this same coin about 2 years ago in 1 grade lower (62) and sold for $5950! This 63 has even better details!
