Atocha 1622 Silver Bar 17.5lbs Ingot with Mel Fisher COA
ATOCHA 1622 SILVER BAR 17.5 LBS. (280oz) INGOT MEL FISHER TREASURE SALVORS COA PIRATE WOW!!! This 17.5lb ATOCHA SILVER BAR INGOT is 35.1 x 12.7 x 8cm (now just under cm thick) or (approx. 14” x 5” x 5/8”), HUGE BAR! Class Factor .80; Carat 2380, TSI #85A-S472 (1985 Atocha); listed on Manifest 2893 (Register / Page C503vo). Manifest comments: ORTENZIO PARAVEZIN / SOTARIPA. See the COA, which reflects this Atocha Bar was 78lbs 4.80oz, which was then cut or shaved down to just the upper layer (which remains at approx. 8cm or 5/8” thick), retaining ALL the original and Historical Markings (Stamps, serial #’s, Owner’s and Shippers). Remember in 1985 when Mel Fisher located the Mother Load of the Nuestra Señora De Atocha, it was the Silver BARS that confimed the Ship by comparing the Serial #’s to the Manifest in the ARCHIVES of the INDIES in Seville SPAIN! This particular piece has the HIGHEST Purity (2380 or 2400 kt.) as marked right on the bar (MMCCCLXXX) and high Class factor .80. The markings are very nice and clear as is the Assayer’s scoop. What’s really nice about this BAR is that it clearly displays the ROYAL tax Stamp, reflects the King’s 20% had been paid. NOTE: In the Lower left hand corner the engraved CROSS marking, as well as the upper Left corner you can vaguely see the other Shipper’s / Owner’s markings (asterisk in shape). What’s particularly nice about this piece is that it has the FULL SIZE (14” x 5”) without weighing over 80lbs, which is difficult to handle, carry or lift (increasing the desirability of this Rarely seen weight). This beautiful ATOCHA SHIPWRECK BAR is such a beautiful piece of History and we are honored to offer it on the Open Market!!
