ATOCHA 1622 SILVER BAR SLICE approx. 10 LBS. INGOT “FACTOR Grade .90 of 1.0 scale) w/ (4) FOUR Royal Stamps! COA by MEL FISHER TREASURE SALVORS COA PIRATE WOW!!! This VERY RARE Oruro mint (not common Potosi, which is 90% of Bars) 10lb ATOCHA SILVER BAR INGOT is 39.7 x 12.2 x 9 cm (now just under cm thick) or (approx. 15 3/4” x 5” x 3/8”), HUGE BAR! Class Factor .90; Carat 2380, TSI #85A-S343A (1985 Atocha); listed on Manifest 1158 (Register / Page P8385vo). Manifest comments: (Shipper/owner) J. Delgado to Self. See the COA, which reflects this Atocha Bar was 88lbs 3.2oz, which was then cut or shaved down to just the upper layer (which remains at approx. 9cm or 3/8” thick), retaining ALL the original and Historical Markings (Stamps, serial #’s, Owner’s and Shippers). Remember in 1985 when Mel Fisher located the Mother Load of the Nuestra Señora De Atocha, it was the Silver BARS that confimed the Ship by comparing the Serial #’s to the Manifest in the ARCHIVES of the INDIES in Seville SPAIN! This particular piece has the HIGHEST Purity (2380 or 2400 kt.) as marked right on the bar (MMCCCLXXX) and high Class factor .90. The markings are very nice and clear as is the Assayer’s scoop (which NOTICE is at the Edge of the Bar versus from the middle, determining it was from the ORURO mint - NOT POTOSI, very RARE!). This mint "ORURO" is approx. 150 miles from Potosi and began it's discovery in 1607. which when they built the new Caja Real (Royal Treasury). The discovery was so big that the Viceroy Principe de Esquilache ordered 500 Indian miners to be transferred from the mines of Garci Mendoza . What’s really nice about this BAR is that it clearly displays the 4 or 5 ROYAL tax Stamps, reflects the King’s 20% had been paid. What’s particularly nice about this piece is that it has the FULL SIZE (15.75” x 5”) without weighing over 88lbs, which is difficult to handle, carry or lift (increasing the desirability of this Rarely seen weight). We are ONLY Aware of 4 “BAR SLICES” in existence. This beautiful ATOCHA SHIPWRECK BAR is such a beautiful piece of History and we are honored to offer it on the Open Market!!
