Spain 8 Escudos 1723 "Only 3 Known- Full 4 Digit Date" NGC 55
SPAIN 1723 8 ESCUDOS “ONLY 3 KNOWN!” NGC 55 GOLD DOUBLOON SEVILLE TREASURE COIN RARE ~ SPAIN 1723 (FULL 4 DIGIT DATE!) 8 ESCUDOS “ONLY 3 KNOWN!” NGC 55 GOLD DOUBLOON SEVILLE TREASURE COIN! Of the ONLY 3 Known, this piece is the 2nd FINEST KNOWN! We also have the piece lower than this one as well on site (NGC 45). These Regal 8 Escudos – Gold Doubloons are Highly sought after and collected by dates as well. They run from 1699 to 1729 (we also have several other dates available here in our store) and the 1723 has the Double lined BOLD CROSS and this one is in near perfect condition as is the DATE! What really separates this particular piece from most is the Golden LUSTER, we normally don’t see such a high level of Luster on any dates. The luster on this piece even surpasses a 63 we had recently sold (1712). The next highly coveted characteristic this piece holds is the FULL and undisrupted DATE (and ALL 4 digits of it!). The Centering is also WAY above average for these types, which about 98% of the Full rim indentures displayed. This coin type is well known for having heavy “adjustment marks” going across both sides, this piece is NOT distracted with it. In fact, it does Not even have the typical Soft Center devices on either the Cross or Shield side. Both the Cross and Shield are 100% complete (as well as the Crown!). These pieces were produced through a “Roller Press,” and typically come with “soft devices” somewhere on the planchet. This piece is very atypical and extremely special and RARE as such! KM315,Fr-247
