SPAIN 1687/3 GOLD 8 ESCUDOS “ROYAL LIKE” NGC AU CHARLES II “VERY RARE” DOUBLOON TREASURE COIN WOW! (Is what you must be thinking upon first viewing this Gorgeous Artistic Masterpiece). This 1687/3 Gold Doubloon “Pieces of Eight” was minted in Segovia over 330 years ago, weighs 26.89 gm (Cal.37 Onza 145), Assayer “BR”. Extremely RARE, in fact, there’s Only been 3 Ever Certified by NGC (2 in AU and one Unc.), now that’s RARE! *** One of these sold in Auction back in 2012 (5 Years ago) for $26,394 over in Europe! NGC graded as AU, this is probably from the small nick above the “G” at 10 o’clock on the Obverse and one other one on Cross side at 7 o’clock just below the Treasure line and in between the R. This was the reason for the tooled comment. This Gold Doubloon has the aesthetic appearance of a 67 “all day long!” Fortunately not graded that high as the price tab would certainly exceed $50k! One of the most atypical feature of this Gold Doubloon is the Centering and complete Bezel line circumference on both the Obverse and Reverse – Just Amazing! Also, the details are exemplary (again both Obv. And Reverse). Literally every single detail is boldly struck! It has the full appearance of a “ROYAL!” Certainly a RARE Opportunity for advanced collectors.
