Spain 2 Escudos 1621-65 "Santa Margarita 1622 Shipwreck" NGC 64
POP TOP SANTA MARGARITA NGC 64!!! This piece comes with the Origial Mel Fisher's Diver's Tag and is listed in the Mel Fisher Data Base (see Gallery pics) also comes with Marine Archeologist COA.
Perfectly Centered CROSS!! Full Tressure. This piece certainly earned it's lofty Pop Top Grade NGC 64 with deep beautiful Luster (buttery).
If you're looking for the Best, this is it for the Santa Margarita (Sister ship of the Atocha). Amazing history to think about how the sailors on this Galleon watched the Atocha sink, within naked eye visibility. The Santa Marg. was salvaged shortly after her demise. Being in only 18 or 19' of water it was very feasible for salvage efforts. This was Not the case for the Atocha in 55' of water. Making the Santa Margarita much Rarer than the Atocha since she was salvaged in her day. To think about this piece was a "Pocket Piece," in someone's pocket who perished 400 years ago is an amazing piece of History!31
