Spain 2 Escudos 1598-1621 "Atocha 1622 Shipwreck" NGC 62
WOW! MINT STATE NGC 62 ATOCHA GOLD COIN with Fisher COA & Appraisal ($55,000 back 5+ Years ago!).
What really separates this piece from it's peers, besides the very high Mint State Grade (62), is the Full Cross and a majority of the Tressure, as well as the Full Shield.
Of course, there were No minted gold coins loaded onto the Atocha or it's Fleet. So, the Rare examples that are known are from "Pocket Pieces." From the passengers, merchants, Church's coinage, that were struck in Spain (Old World) and were being carried on board and were lost with the perished. Incredible History!31
